Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare is El Paso, TX, comprises both Las Palmas Medical Center and Del Sol Medical Center.

The medical community is in good shape in El Paso, thanks to a large health-care sector with many providers. Here is some background:

Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare

Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare oversees Las Palmas Medical Center and Del Sol Medical Center as well as a number of urgent care facilities. Las Palmas Medical Center is a Level III trauma hospital offering a host of services, including cardiology, women’s health, pediatric care and oncology. It has the only kidney transplant center in the region. Del Sol Medical Center is a Level II trauma center and features a bariatric clinic, a minimally invasive surgery center and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

The Hospitals of Providence

The Hospitals of Providence network includes four medical campuses – Memorial Campus, Sierra Campus, East Campus and a new Transmountain Campus in west El Paso. The Hospitals of Providence partnered with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso to open a full-service, 106-bed hospital on the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus. The campus features a medical plaza with physician clinic space, and the hospital serves as a training facility for TTUHC students. The network also operates Providence Children’s Hospital and an urgent care center in northeast El Paso that provides a cost-effective alternative to the emergency room.

In 2017, the Hospitals of Providence opened the El Paso area’s first micro-hospital in Horizon City. The $18 million Horizon City Campus features an eight-bed emergency room as well as eight inpatient beds, a lab, a pharmacy and imaging equipment, including a CT scanner. The micro-hospital does not offer surgical services but is equipped with a helipad for rapid transfers if necessary.

Kindred Hospital

At the base of the Franklin Mountains is Kindred Hospital El Paso, a 62-bed hospital that provides medical care to patients who require extra recovery time after discharge from a traditional hospital.

Medical Center of the Americas Foundation

Medical Center of the Americas is anchored by the University Medical Center of El Paso, El Paso Children’s Hospital and the four-year Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. University Medical Center provides care to many low-income and uninsured residents in the region, while the dozens of services at El Paso Children’s include pediatric intensive care and pediatric oncology.

El Paso Specialty Hospital

El Paso Specialty Hospital specializes in orthopedic procedures, such as joint replacement and spine surgeries, as well as pain management and hyperbaric therapy, and wound care. The hospital serves El Paso, Las Cruces and parts of northern Mexico.

Foundation Surgical Hospital of El Paso

Foundation Surgical Hospital of El Paso has 40 beds and a medical staff of more than 300 physicians. FSHEP offers outpatient and inpatient surgery and is a Center of Excellence for nursing and orthopedic surgery.

Peak Behavioral Health Services

In nearby Saint Teresa, N.M., Peak Behavioral Health Services is a 119-bed hospital that treats children, adolescents, adults and seniors with mental health and chemical dependency issues. The facility is open around the clock, 365 days a year.
