Temple's diverse food scene offers a wide variety of eats sure to satisfy any craving – whether you're in the mood for a fancy feast or just have time to grab a quick bite, there's a restaurant to meet your need for delicious cuisine.

Fine Dining

Offering an upscale dining experience, Cheeves Bros. Steak House serves U.S.D.A. prime steaks and boasts an award-winning wine cellar. In addition to a delicious meal, guests may enjoy a limousine service and roses provided by the restaurant's in-house florist.

The Great American Grill, located inside the Hilton Garden Inn, serves gourmet dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers organic coffees, specialty desserts and a variety of wines.

Patrons of the Great American Grill can rest assured their meals are in good hands as the culinary creations of the Food and Beverage Manager of the restaurant, Susan Hagen, have been featured on The Today Show and the The Food Network.

Casual Meals

For a more casual dining experience, Temple residents can head to French Quarter Burgers and enjoy one of the eatery's old fashioned hamburgers. This restaurant also features live music on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6 p.m.

The 8th Street Meat Market offers barbecue by the pound, as well as sandwiches, steak, catfish and a variety of other dishes. Diners may also choose from several side dishes, such as onion rings, French fries and fried okra.

Also serving barbecue, Clem Miceska's Bar-B-Q is a cafeteria-style restaurant that provides a drive-through for hurried customers. This eatery specializes in sirloin and brisket, creates homemade sausage and makes all of their food from scratch, including side dishes. Those who are extra-hungry may enjoy banana pudding and cobblers for dessert.

Offering breakfast, brunch and lunch made from local ingredients, Megg's Cafe is a family-owned restaurant. Megg's also features fresh artisan bread from an in-house bakery, Hamilton Bread Co.

Farmer's Market

Locally-grown fruits and vegetables can be found at the Temple Farmer's Market, located on South Main Street. The market is open from late May through September or October on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Dessert

For dessert items, Temple residents can visit Cowlabunga for ice cream, milkshakes and other tasty treats, as well as coffee drinks.

Other local sweet spots include Dairy Queen, Maggie Moo's Ice Cream & Treatery and Cold Stone Creamery, each offering ice cream in a variety of flavors.
