CHRISTUS Cares for Northeast Texas
How CHRISTUS is serving selflessly across Tyler, TX.
When the coronavirus pandemic began in the spring of 2020, health care providers in Tyler sprang into action.
CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System was there every step of the way, leading the charge to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care to all those in need.
“The mission that the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth brought to Tyler in 1937 inspires and motivates our physicians, nurses and associates to be focused on our patients’ physical and emotional needs,” says Jason Proctor, president of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospitals – Tyler, South Tyler. “Every day, our team at Mother Frances Hospital gives selflessly to serve our patients, and that dedication to extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ is at the core of what we do.”
Early in the pandemic, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System opened its new Bradley- Thompson Tower in Tyler, which increased emergency and intensive care capabilities and helped address possible COVID-19 cases as the country was anticipating a surge.
The new 200,000-square-foot facility is home to a high-tech emergency care center, two 24-bed intensive care units, multiple support services, two helipads and room for future growth.
The tower is just one example of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System’s commitment to serving the community, which spans the Northeast Texas region and includes rapidly growing locations in Tyler, South Tyler, Jacksonville, Winnsboro, Canton and Sulphur Springs.
CHRISTUS is home to Northeast Texas’ only heart hospital, which received the American College of Cardiology’s first-in-the-nation HeartCARE Center of Excellence award for providing critical care for local residents and those transferred from across the region.
This summer, CHRISTUS will open an orthopedic and sports medicine institute to support complete wellness and peak performance training for athletes. Newsweek also recognized CHRISTUS as one of the nation’s best maternity hospitals.
“CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances has grown because patients choose us for their care,” Proctor says.
