Victoria, TX's, newest festival, Bootfest, means a good time for all ages in De Leon Plaza in downtown Victoria. The two-day jam session packs food, country music, a washers tournament and, of course, boots into a weekend full of festival fun.
Albeit brand new, the free event already is Victoria’s largest festival of the year, with the highlight being performances by some of the biggest names in country music.
Boot lovers can have custom boots made on the spot or watch professional boot crafters demonstrate all that goes into making the perfect pair. Boot-inspired artwork is displayed throughout the festival, with artists submitting their work for a chance to win a cash prize.
Youngsters have their own space, the Kids' Corral, with activities such as jumping in inflatables and dancing to music played by their own DJ.
At the washers tournament, which takes place on Saturday, teams of two can show off their washer-pitching skills to compete for prizes. Up to 20 teams can participate, and a first- and second-place winner are announced.
Festival-goers will also find plenty of food and arts and crafts vendors, beer booths, games and more.
Ending the event is a fireworks show with a preview on Friday night.
