Heather Johnson is a freelance writer and Nashville native currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work has appeared in Mix, EQ, Audio Media and Performing Songwriter, among others, as well as Journal Communications publications. Her two books (so far) include If These Halls Could Talk: A Historical Tour Through San Francisco Recording Studios (Cengage) and Born in a Small Town: The John Mellencamp Story (Omnibus Press).
In her free time, Ms. Johnson runs and rides her bike – a lot – and frequently competes in both disciplines. She is also polishing up a memoir about a particularly tumultuous few years in the mid-1990s.
