Located in an old firehall in Burlington, the Burlington City Arts Center has been growing quickly since its small beginnings in 1995.
The BCA is now a great spot for residents and visitors to see contemporary art from both local and nationally known artists. Two of the floors house the center's revolving art exhibits, the fourth floor is the Art Lab where artists can use the studio space to create new masterpieces.
Throughout the year other areas of the center are used as a museum or a performance hall for live music. The type of exhibitions range across all styles and mediums, so finding something to fit your taste is never hard.
The gallery education program invites Burlington's youth and adults to come learn techniques and how to express their creativity. Sessions last about two hours and begin with a tour of the galleries, then move onto an open-question-and-answer session with the instructor, and end with some studio time where students can make pieces to take home. The program is free, but they do ask for groups to make contributions to help cover material and staff costs.
