Marshfield Country Club
This public course was designed by noted golf architect Joe Sturm and opened as a nine-course facility in 1922, then added nine more holes in 1974. Marshfield Country Club plays 6,042 yards as a par 70 from the blue tees at its longest, and 5,139 yards from the red tees at its shortest. The course has built a reputation for having greens that are true and smooth, yet they are also a good test. Recent renovations to the clubhouse include the MCC Grille, which serves food and beverages, and a new deck.
River Edge Golf Course
The 18-hole River Edge course features 6,514 yards of golf from the longest tees, for a par of 72. The popular golfing destination opened in 1930 and is known for its scenic setting overlooking the Yellow River. River Edge also has a driving range, pro shop, bar and grill, twilight and early-bird golf specials, and a Friday evening seafood buffet from 5-9 p.m.
Nearby Golf Venues
Mystique Meadows Golf Course is a nine-hole public layout in Stratford that opened in 2005 and features tree-lined fairways and several bunkers along with two-, three- and four-acre ponds. The course also boasts a new all-glass clubhouse overlooking the greens, with a custom-built waterfall pond with stacked boulders in the back.
Meanwhile, Homestead Supper & Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids is also a nine-hole public course that offers a challenging landscape and well-maintained greens. Par is 34; the course is considered a bit difficult yet player friendly, and riding carts are available. There is also a fully stocked pro shop with bags, shoes, clubs, gloves, clothing and accessories.
