Wright, WY

Wright, a small community in southern Campbell County, is considered a bedroom community to Gillette and has several quality-of-life amenities that are exceptional relative to its size. These amenities include a new town hall, a new recreation center that features a lap pool and lazy river, and a recently-completed, expansive agricultural complex with a rodeo arena. The town largely owes its settlement to people who came to work in the coal industry in the 1970s, and the economy continues to consist mostly of agriculture, oil, gas and coal enterprises. Residents here enjoy several community events, such as the annual Wright Days celebration; outdoor recreation, such as fishing at Panther Pond; and enjoying centuries-old pristine natural scenes, such as observing herds of buffalo roaming the 55,000 acres of Durham Ranch.
