Sheridan, who relocated to Prattville 12 years ago, says her vibrant community provides a unique blend of small-town charm and modern conveniences.
“The perfect Saturday morning starts off with a workout at the YMCA, breakfast and coffee at West Main Coffeehouse and Creamery, enjoying the beautiful weather beside the Autauga Creek, and ending the afternoon with a trip to the local candy store, Candy Corner,” she says.
Bountiful Housing Options in Prattville and Autauga County

And Sheridan agrees. “The housing market in Prattville is fantastic,” she says. “Prattville has many housing options, ranging from custom-built homes to cozy apartments. The community’s diverse real estate ensures that individuals and families can find the perfect home.”
One newer option for residents is The Mill at Prattville. The eight-year, $37 million renovation of a historic mill into 127 loft-style apartments is the latest adaptive reuse effort, preserving historic charm while meeting housing demands.
The Water’s Wonderful Here
The numerous artesian wells that once were common in Prattville (a few still exist) earned it the nickname “Fountain City.” One of its other natural assets – Autauga Creek – makes Evans’ list of must-see activities.
“If it’s summertime, definitely hit the canoe and kayak trail on Autauga Creek,” he says.
City parks top Sheridan’s leisure list. “I enjoy taking my children to the park to play, meeting friends for coffee downtown and exercising,” she says. “Pratt Park is a perfect place for families. We can feed the ducks, fish, rollerblade and play on the playground.”
For those looking to hit the links, locals recommend RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill.

Fall in Love With the Fabulous Food and Shopping
The region boasts a diverse food and drink scene that’s home to places like Autauga Creek Craft House, LáTaste- Vietnamese Cuisine, Uncle Mick’s Cajun Market & Café, Sushi Ro and Adrienne’s Downtown Bar.
As for some of Sheridan’s favorites: “We eat at Prattville Country Club every Sunday after church,” she says. “Our family also loves to eat at Oak Tavern at the Marriott at Capitol Hill. This is a perfect dinner spot for a family or date night; we love the outdoor seating area.”
Shopping is also an adventure, as quaint shops line downtown Prattville. Sheridan enjoys Featherwhite, a home decor and gift store – that is, when she’s not at her own shop.
“Our store, Sunrise + Sheridan, is a great place to get personalized items for any special occasion,” she says. “We live in a sweet community where individuals and other businesses support each other.”

It’s hard to go wrong with making a move to Prattville, as it’s overflowing with opportunities and friendly folks. Evans says new residents are sure to find their own place.
“I have always told people who are moving here that they will always be pleasantly surprised by the people who live here, their welcoming nature and our great sense of community,” he says.
