One of the fastest-growing states in America is Utah, and The Beehive State is strong in economic sectors like information technology, cattle ranching, mining and government services. Several cities offer an excellent quality of life, including the following:

Salt Lake City

The capital of Utah, Salt Lake City is perhaps best known for its Great Salt Lake. Interstates 15 and 80 serve the city along with Salt Lake City International Airport, and higher education choices include the University of Utah. The NBA’s Utah Jazz play their home games in Salt Lake City.

Murray

With one of the lowest city tax rates in Utah, Murray is a long-time Tree City USA and features Intermountain Medical Center as its largest employer. Murray City Park is a popular gather place for organized sports, and students can attend satellite campuses of the University of Utah and Utah State University.

Provo

Home to Brigham Young University, Provo offers outdoor plusses like the Provo River for fishing, while Provo River Parkway is a paved trail that runs along the river. Quality of life luxuries include two major shopping malls, two hospitals, Utah Valley Convention Center and Provo Municipal Airport.

Bountiful

At the base of the Wasatch Range, Bountiful rises almost a mile high in elevation and is a bedroom community to Salt Lake City. Residents can use a convenient FrontRunner commuter rail service, and quality of life amenities include Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful Ridge Golf Club and three college-prep high schools.

Logan

Utah State University is a big part of Logan, with the college-town atmosphere contributing to the city’s median age of 24. The Logan River offers many outdoor recreational opportunities, and a vibrant cultural scene is headed by Ellen Eccles Theatre that presents concerts, theater, ballet and movies.

St. George

On the Utah-Arizona border, St. George is in the northeast portion of the Mojave Desert and has a warmer climate on average than the rest of Utah. SkyWest Airlines is headquartered in St. George, and livability assets include Dixie Regional Medical Center, Dixie State University and 65 miles of urban trails.

Ogden

A historic downtown with a view of the Wasatch Mountains highlights the beauty of Ogden, home to Weber State University. The city is the economic hub of northern Utah, and its largest employers include McKay Dee Hospital. A good transportation system serves the community thanks to Interstates 15 and 84.

West Valley City

A suburb of Salt Lake City, West Valley City is a tourism destination thanks to outdoor recreation spots along the Oquirrh Mountains and the Jordan River. Several indoor entertainment events are staged at the community’s Maverik Center and USANA Amphitheatre, and residents are privy to 20 parks and two golf courses.

With its nickname “Family City USA,” Orem residents have 20 parks and the Utah Lake available to them, and the city offers several adult and youth sports leagues. Education choices include a high-ranking Alpine School District and Utah Valley University, and healthcare options are led by Timpanogos Regional Hospital.

West Jordan

West Jordan continues to grow, increasing from 4,000 residents in 1970 to more than 100,000 today. Lining the city are the Jordan River and the Oquirrh Mountains, while quality of life luxuries include Salt Lake Community College and Jordan Valley Medical Center. The city also hosts a Utah Army National Guard base.
