Hargrove Engineers and Constructors Celebrates 30 Years in Mobile

Celebrating 30 years in 2025, Hargrove Engineers and Constructors has had a lasting impact on the Mobile community. The full-service project execution firm boasts over 2,700 teammates and 19 offices across the U.S., but it all started in Mobile, Alabama, in 1995.

“Ralph A. Hargrove founded the company here with a vision to create a people-focused engineering firm built on long-term relationships and mutual, sustained success with our clients,” says Jerry Brown, operations leader for the Mobile office. “That mindset still drives our team today. We employ over 500 teammates in the Mobile area, offering careers in engineering, drafting and design, procurement, accounting, project management and more.” 

Giving Back to the Community

Hargrove strives to provide not just jobs but meaningful careers for its employees. At the same time, the company values the importance of giving back to the community and local economy, keeping dollars in Mobile.

“Our presence downtown supports the Mobile economy, not just through employment but also by supporting small businesses, restaurants and local vendors through our events and everyday operations,” Brown says. 

Hargrove has developed a robust internship program for college students, as well as the Hargrove High School Academy program, which began five years ago. The high school program brings in approximately eight student interns and exposes them to career paths available without a four-year degree. 

The Hargrove Foundation

Another way the company gives back is through its Hargrove Foundation. 

“With a focus on education, health and wellness, and cultural stewardship, the Foundation invests directly in initiatives that strengthen the communities where our teammates live and work,” Brown says. “What makes it even more meaningful is the hands-on involvement of our team.”

Employees volunteer their time and talents throughout the year to various causes. The Foundation also hosts an annual gala featuring prominent key speakers to raise money for the organization. 

“Many in our community face real-life challenges every day. Sometimes, all it takes is a helping hand, and that’s where the Foundation steps in,” Brown says. “It helps us stay grounded, humble and focused on making a positive difference.”
