From waterfront parks and campgrounds to tournament fields and new recreation destinations, Mobile County is investing in more ways for residents to get outside.

The Mobile County Commission’s parks and recreation system spans nearly 2,000 acres and includes 21 parks, sports facilities and recreation assets. Across the county, residents can hike, camp, fish, paddle, launch a boat, hit the soccer field or simply find a scenic place to spend an afternoon.

The options stretch from established destinations such as Chickasabogue Park, Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground, Bayfront Park and Cedar Point Pier to a growing collection of sports and recreation facilities. The Mobile County Sportsplex off Halls Mill Road is expanding its soccer complex and adding a new Aquatic Center, while Cypress Creek Golf Course at Riviére du Chien Park is also taking shape. Other projects are adding or improving public access to waterways, trails, community parks and outdoor gathering spaces throughout the county.

Finding those opportunities is easier, too. MobileCountyParks.com brings park information, maps, events and reservations together in one place, allowing users to explore amenities or plan their next outing before leaving home.

“Mobile County Commission has made significant investments in parks, sports facilities, public water access and outdoor recreation,” says Mobile County Commission President Connie Hudson. “MobileCountyParks.com reflects that growth by bringing information, reservations and recreation resources together in one convenient place.”

Whether your ideal Saturday includes a fishing pole, hiking shoes, soccer cleats or a picnic blanket, Mobile County offers plenty of room to get out and play.
