Downtown Dining

“Excellent,” “authentic” and “incredibly friendly” are all words often used to describe Uncle Mick’s Cajun Market and Cafe on West Main Street downtown. At Mick’s, alligator piquante is on the menu along with classic Louisiana favorites.

Barbecue & Southern Cooking

Fat Boy’s Bar-B-Que Ranch slow-cooks barbecue over hickory hardwood and features barbecue pork, beef brisket and smoked chicken. Chris’ Bar-B-Que has cooked its signature barbecue for more than 30 years and features favorites like pulled-pork sandwiches and slabs of ribs in addition to breakfast and lunch items. Jim ‘N Nick’s has locations throughout the Southeast and carries classics like beef brisket and Carolina-style pork as well as sandwiches, salads and sides.

The new Gringo’s Tacos adds another option for Mexican food downtown.

For pizza, head to Marco’s Pizza or Mellow Mushroom, or to locally owned Midtown Pizza Kitchen, which features the option to build your own pies with fresh ingredients.
