The city of Davis is comprised of a politically active and socially conscious residents, many of whom supported the construction of a tunnel under a street so that toads could cross without getting hit by cars. Davis contains a vast network of bike lanes, which helped the city get a “platinum” designation from the League of American Bicyclists. Excellent schools, a diverse economy and good health care continues to bring newcomers to Davis.
