Victor Valley Organizations Strengthen Families and Communities
A thriving business community is built on more than economic growth. Across the Victor Valley, organizations are demonstrating that success is measured not only by the services they provide or the jobs they create, but also by the ways they strengthen the people and families around them.
Three organizations – Love Your Best Life LLC, Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation and High Desert Sports Foundation – reflect the region’s spirit of collaboration, compassion and community investment. Through education, advocacy, support services and inclusive programming, these organizations are helping make the Victor Valley a place where individuals and families can grow, connect, and thrive.
Supporting Families
Founded by physician, doula and entrepreneur Dr. Priya Kalyan-Masih, Love Your Best Life was created with a mission to ensure families have access to compassionate, evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum journey.
The organization provides doula services, childbirth education, lactation education, postpartum care and professional training programs designed to expand access to maternal health resources.
“Every parent deserves to feel informed, empowered and supported during one of life’s most transformative experiences,” Kalyan-Masih says.
Beyond direct birth support, Love Your Best Life invests in future community leaders. Through partnerships with Victor Valley College, healthcare organizations and local community programs, the organization’s doula training program prepares individuals to serve families throughout the region.
“We don’t simply teach students how to become doulas – we mentor future community leaders,” Kalyan- Masih says.
By offering English- and Spanish-language cohorts, the organization is helping create a more accessible and culturally responsive maternal care workforce. Its nonprofit arm, the Love Your Best Life Foundation, further expands that mission through scholarships and support for aspiring birth workers and families seeking care.
“Our goal is not only healthier pregnancies and births, but healthier families and stronger communities for years to come,” Kalyan-Masih says.
Creating Inclusion and Opportunity
Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation was founded by CEO Dana Hernandez after she recognized a need for more inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families throughout the Victor Valley.
The organization provides social, recreational, educational and support services that improve quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families. What began as a small Easter event has grown into an organization serving thousands of families throughout the region.
“We don’t just serve the individual with a disability – we serve the entire family,” Hernandez says.
Through adaptive sports programs, life-skills classes, educational opportunities, field trips, volunteer experiences and community events, Rock’n Our Disabilities helps participants build confidence, independence and meaningful connections. Partnerships with local businesses, schools and community organizations continue to expand opportunities and create a more inclusive Victor Valley.
“We believe a meaningful life is about much more than having a job,” Hernandez says. “Everyone deserves friendships, hobbies, confidence, independence and opportunities to be part of their community.”

Building Communities Through Sports
The High Desert Sports Foundation uses athletics as a pathway to youth development, wellness and community connection. Its mission is to provide High Desert youth with resources to participate, compete and grow through sports while promoting healthier lifestyles, educational opportunities, life skills and stronger relationships.
“We use sports as a catalyst to promote overall healthier lifestyles,” says Executive Director Nakia Wilson.
The Foundation supports youth and families through scholarships, school supply giveaways, family resource events, life-skills workshops, fitness initiatives and community programs. Over the past year, the organization served more than 800 children through its Toys for Champions Giveaway, partnered with nearly a dozen organizations to provide resources, awarded scholarships to graduating seniors and hosted events recognizing student-athletes throughout the High Desert.
The organization also focuses on building trust and collaboration across the region. A partnership with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Training Academy brought more than 80 cadets together as volunteers during a holiday event, creating positive interactions between families and future deputies.
As the Victor Valley continues to grow, the foundation is working to expand recreational opportunities through its vision for an 80-acre multisport, multiuse community campus. The planned development would include athletic facilities, adaptive recreation, educational initiatives, wellness programs and community gathering spaces.
“Investing in recreation is also an investment in workforce development,” Wilson says. “And it’s also an investment in tourism, public health and long-term economic vitality.”
