Looking for a place to grab a bite in Wilkes County? Take a look at some of the area’s best restaurants:

With two Wilkes County locations – one in North Wilkesboro, the other in Millers Creek – West Coast Wings and Pizza is a favorite lunch and dinner destination. Wilkesboro’s Carousel Cafe serves American food and is known for its salad bar, while The Dispensary Restaurant & Pub in North Wilkesboro has a tasty sandwich selection as well as entrees such as shrimp and grits. Cagney’s Kitchen’s Wilkesboro location offers an all-day breakfast menu, and North Wilkesboro’s TENTEN Thai restaurant blends sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavors to create mouth-watering lunch and dinner dishes.

Enjoy dinner at two North Wilkesboro establishments: Elsewhere on 10th and Branciforte’s Italian Ristorante. Elsewhere on 10th is a farm-to-table restaurant that creates Southern dishes, including bourbon-glazed chicken and pan-fried North Carolina rainbow trout, using responsibly sourced and in-season ingredients. Serving authentic Italian cuisine, Branciforte’s Italian Ristorante offers pasta, pizza, steak, seafood and can’t-miss desserts including the Branciforte’s family cheesecake.

Bakery and Deli

In North Wilkesboro, Betty’s Bakery and Uncle Bill’s Deli & Grill is a combined restaurant and bakery that serves all three meals. Breakfast choices include biscuits, sandwiches, pancakes, waffles and French toast, while lunch and dinner options are specialty and deli sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and a variety of sides. Craving dessert? Grab a fresh-baked pastry or slice of cake or pie from the bakery, and pair your sweet treat with a specialty coffee drink.

Chick-fil-A of Wilkesboro is not only a local favorite because of its delicious menu items, but also for its generosity with the community. The franchisee hosts “spirit nights” for area schools and care centers, giving a percentage of the evening’s sales to the particular organization it’s supporting. In addition, the restaurant has “Free Breakfast Tuesday” events, during which customers receive a free surprise breakfast entree with any purchase.

Tipton’s Bar-B-Que specializes in Lexington-style barbecue, made from pork shoulders and chickens raised in North Carolina. In addition to ‘cue, the Wilkesboro eatery has gourmet burgers, melts, wraps, pizza and salads. In North Wilkesboro, Brushy Mountain Smokehouse and Creamery has a diverse menu that features both barbecue and homemade ice cream in flavors like blueberry cheesecake and banana cream pie. Additional Brushy Mountain menu items include sandwiches, grilled chicken, burgers, catfish and sides like fried okra and baked cinnamon apples.

Get your caffeine fix in North Wilkesboro at Talia Espresso or Anchor Coffee Co. Both establishments serve a mix of hot and cold coffee drinks, and Talia Espresso also offers breakfast foods, salads, sandwiches, wraps and desserts.
