“The amenities here help us draw talent not only locally, but from out of state as well,â€ says Dave Whan, chief human resources officer for TopBuild. “The existing labor pool and fresh college graduates from the local universities are a plus. When you add the warm weather, beaches and proximity to many fun things to do on the weekend, it makes an attractive package.”
A leader in the insulation installation and distribution industry, TopBuild has 67,000 square feet of space at its facility in Daytona Beach, where approximately 275 employees support branches across the country.
Major companies that call Greater Daytona home include NASCAR, boat builder Boston Whaler, medical device maker Medtronic and insurers Security First and Brown & Brown.
The region’s sophisticated economy includes key sectors in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, customer support centers, logistics and distribution, motion picture and video production and professional services.

Deep Talent Pool
Employers in the Greater Daytona Region can tap a talent pool that includes more than 200,000 college and university students within a 100-mile radius. Numerous training resources are available, including the Quick Response Training Program, Incumbent Worker Training Program and On-the-Job Training Funding Assistance Program.
DaVita Labs expanded in DeLand with the opening of its 150,000- square-foot campus in 2018. From that facility, 500 employees support 200,000 dialysis patients across the country. DaVita Labs processes about 100,000 specimens every day that keep patients informed and equip them to manage their health.

Ormond Beach-based Security First Insurance Company expanded into a new 136,000-square-foot headquarters.
