Hallendale Beach, Florida, is “Pulsing With Energy”
Sponsored by: City of Hallendale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency
While nature provides the sun, sand and surf, the City of Hallendale Beach, Fl, is busy providing everything else.
With more than $1 billion worth of projects underway, including some through a comprehensive capital-improvement plan, Hallandale Beach is investing in becoming one of the hottest spots in the Sunshine State.
“We’re pulsing with energy in every category,” says city manager Dr. Jeremy Earle, executive director of the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. “We have the beach, we have the businesses, and we have the social scene.”
There already is evidence of this throughout Hallandale Beach, with investors and entrepreneurs launching a variety of innovative ventures. For example, the District 8 arts and entertainment neighborhood houses the only shipping container restaurant in Broward County (KAO Bar & Grill), as well as an eclectic restaurant/art gallery/greenhouse combo (Icebox Café).
And much, much more is on the way, including:
- Hallandale City Center: An 8,000-square-foot commercial/retail space with a neighborhood grocery store and 270 parking spaces for both residential and public use.
- DesignFlex: Through streetscape and storefront façade improvements, this project will create a pedestrian-friendly environment for the popular restaurants and other entertainment offerings along First Avenue.
- Hallandale Oasis: Covering a full city block, this project provides 500 multifamily residential units along with nearly 60,000 square feet of retail space and 35,000 square feet of office space.
- Optima Office North: A 23-story high-rise building with 320 residential units and another 5,871 square feet of commercial space.
Toss in fun annual events such as Food & Groove (held in partnership with the South Beach Food and Wine Festival), as well as a fantastic location for travelers (approximately halfway between the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports), and Hallandale Beach continues to hit new heights.
“We want to continue improving the city physically, socially and economically,” Earle says. “We want a fusion of investment, lifestyle and community.”
Then let nature take care of the rest.
