The medical center is known throughout the region for its rehabilitation programs, which include speech, physical and occupational therapies. The hospital also plans to open a new wound-care center, which will feature hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The additions follow a robust recruitment effort to attract top talent to the area to keep pace with a growing population.

The Albemarle Hospital Foundation’s Community Care Clinic is a reduced-fee primary care clinic that serves the uninsured and underinsured populations of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties. The clinic is open five days a week on an appointment basis. The clinic also has an onsite pharmacist to fill prescriptions, and offers financial aid for patients who cannot afford their medications.
