Plugging In: Opportunities to Get Involved Abound in Williston

Williston is known for welcoming newcomers and making it easy for people to get connected and integrated into the community. There are numerous local organizations that new residents can get involved in to meet people and do something that has a positive impact. Here are a few to consider.

Rotary Club of Williston

The Rotary Club of Williston is a group of professionals across sectors in the Williston community that meets up for food, fellowship and service. Everyone is welcome to get involved, make new friends and see what the club is about. The group meets at noon every Monday on the fourth floor of Frontier Hall on the Williston State College campus.

Williston Korner Lions and Williston Noon Lions

Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917. The global service organization has over 1.4 million members in more than 43,000 clubs worldwide. The club’s focus on community service, promoting peace and encouraging international understanding. Williston’s District 5-NW has two Lions Clubs: Williston Korner Lions and Williston Noon Lions. Both clubs work on community-based projects.

Olive Motherhood Foundation

Olive Motherhood Foundation was developed to create a community of support with other moms to share the unique and challenging experience of motherhood. The group aims to encourage moms to be the best versions of themselves by hosting events like book clubs and craft nights.

The James Memorial Art Center

Housed in a historic former library, The James Memorial Art Center features a gallery with rotating exhibits featuring the work of local artists, adult and youth art classes, and regular events, like game nights, garden parties and open mic nights, plus an annual arts festival.

Entertainment Inc!

Entertainment Inc! was founded in 1981 and is a community theater troupe that strives to provide Williston residents with high-quality entertainment. A leading arts and cultural organization for the region, it offers an educational outlet for participants and audiences by performing plays and musicals. Performances staged in the past include Grease, Chicago and Legally Blonde: The Musical.

Harmonic Creative World

Harmonic Creative World is a collective of artists and musicians that are behind the Williston Children’s Choir and Youth Orchestra and other creative arts. Its goal is to enrich the community through the transformative power of the arts, spread the joy the arts inspire, and make a meaningful difference in participants’ lives.
