Throughout the week, diners can enjoy main dishes such as chicken-fried steak, pot roast, tuna casserole, fried catfish and spaghetti with meat sauce. The family-owned restaurant is also known for its homemade desserts, which vary daily, including German chocolate cake, coconut pie and bread pudding with lemon sauce.
Serving lunch and dinner daily, Bukanas Mexican Grill offers authentic Mexican fare. Local diners recommend the Fajitas Bukanas, which include steak, chorizo, chicken, shrimp and peppers, as well as the Burrito Oklahoma that’s stuffed with grilled chicken or steak, rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole and topped with cheese sauce. The restaurant also serves tried-and-true menu items like tacos, enchiladas, nachos and quesadillas. Wash it all down while adding a kick to your meal with a spicy margarita, but keep a glass of water handy.
Meat lovers won’t want to miss out on Mahylon’s, a laid-back eatery best known for its mouthwatering barbecue. The restaurant serves up smoked meats such as pork, brisket and turkey, as well as cheeseburgers, fried shrimp and chicken-fried steak. No meal is complete without a side or two, and diners can choose from options such as okra, beans, pasta salad, onion rings and French fries. Lighter selections include salads and wraps, while desserts include cheesecake and hot apple cobbler with ice cream. Mahylon’s is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with brunch available on Saturdays.
