ChattState Offers Students Multiple Paths to a Degree

“We don’t want to tell you what you need to do,” says Christopher Lykins, director of marketing and communications for ChattState. “We want you to tell us what your goals are, and we’re going to help you meet the goals you’re trying to achieve.”
Short-Term Certificates
For those interested in leveling up in their career or changing fields, ChattState offers quick, concentrated courses in everything from welding and heavy equipment operating to health care and massage therapy. Plus, thanks to the program design, individuals can earn these industry-recognized certificates in as little as three to nine weeks or up to six months.
One-Year Diplomas
Earning a technical diploma doesn’t have to take the traditional two or four years. At ChattState, students can enter the workforce after just one year of hands-on education. Through the college’s Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) programs, individuals can earn a technical diploma that coincides with their interests and career goals. Examples include medical assisting, surgical technology, computer support and industrial electricity.
Associate Degrees
Just two years of study at ChattState can open individuals up to a world of opportunities. The college offers more than 90 programs in fields like business, paralegal studies, and hospitality and tourism management. Upon receiving an associate degree, students can either enter the workforce or transfer their credits to a fou-year college.
“ChattState offers flexibility of schedule, a good-value, high-quality education, and it’s close to home,” Lykins says. “We have a Career Services center to help walk students through how to plug into the space they’re trying to get into.”
