With a growing aerospace and defense industry in the state, Tennessee’s universities have developed excellent advanced degree programs to keep professionals at the top of their game. The University of Tennessee offers an MBA program that is attracting top-notch talent in the aerospace and defense industry. UT’s Aerospace and Defense MBA is nationally recognized, attracting the best and brightest from business, military and academia.

“The aerospace and defense industry is being reshaped in America, and Tennessee is right in the middle of it,” says Andy White, director of UT’s Aerospace and Defense MBA program. “There is a unique breadth of support by UT and the state overall in this effort to assist the aerospace and defense industry.”

MBA candidates come from some of the major aerospace and defense companies in the nation, as well as the major branches of the military. White says he believes the ties between UT’s business school and the industry is stronger than any universi’ty in the country. He cites the close working relationship with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) as two prime examples.

UT’s business school has also partnered with the U.S. Air Force in developing enhanced business practices.

“We are a quality supplier of talent to the aerospace and defense industry,” says White, who adds that this networking of education and the industry can only benefit the state overall as a major leader in the aerospace and defense sector. It strengthens their relationship to our state and connects us to the most talented people in the industry.”
