These coffee shops in Maryville and Townsend offer a great cup of joe (and other treats!), along with a welcoming atmosphere.

Blount County guests in search of a caffeinated pick-me-up – or just a delicious drink in a comfy space – will want to hit up one of these five local coffee shops in Maryville and Townsend, where the vibes are as good as the brews. 

Maryville’s Vienna Coffee Co. has gleaming hardwood floors and offers plenty of indoor seating, but the real star of the show is its dog-friendly back patio that’s shaded with bright yellow umbrellas, surrounded by flowering bushes and located next to a rushing stream. Its breakfast and lunch menu includes the “quagle” – its signature crustless quiche atop a bagel. 

Southern Grace Coffee Co., also in Maryville, is located in a historic house with a covered front porch perfect for lounging. On the weekends, it serves a full brunch (waffles, anyone?). 

And thanks to its mismatched furniture, bookshelves stocked with tomes and dark green walls covered with art and artifacts, Beard Brothers Coffee in Maryville boasts an eclectic atmosphere that’s the perfect spot to enjoy its creative menu, which changes daily.

In nearby Townsend, The Dancing Bean Coffee House offers a rustic, peaceful atmosphere, with wood-paneled walls and a homey stone fireplace that dominates the space and provides warmth on chilly days. (You can also warm up with a spiked coffee cocktail.) 

Towns End Coffee & Shop, also in Townsend, occupies a cozy log cabin that offers stunning views of a picturesque barn and the Great Smoky Mountains from its front porch. Start off the day with fun breakfast bites like the toasted honey croissant and avocado toast.
