Outdoor Dining

Fall 2020 saw the city’s Main Street Department introduce a pilot program to find innovative seating alternatives at restaurants, bars and cafes. The initiative spurred many more outdoor seating options in Tyler. The program was a way for customers to safely dine outdoors at eateries during COVID-19. Now that pandemic restrictions have been lifted, Tyler continues to have several dining hot spots that are keeping the outdoor eating options open. Some of those popular dining destinations include:

» Humo
» The Porch at ETX
» Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q
» Rick’s on the Square
» Kiepersol Vineyard
» True Vine Brewing
» Twelve Kitchen + Cocktails
» Côte Restaurant
» Javi’s
» The Foundry Coffee House
» Chakula Café at Caldwell Zoo
» The Grove Kitchen & Gardens

Made in Tyler

The phrase “Made in Tyler” is becoming more evident these days, since many products sold throughout the U.S. and beyond are made in Tyler.

Everything from smoked turkeys to vodka to Scottish shortbread is made here. For example, Greenberg Smoked Turkeys serves about 200,000 customers each year by shipping turkeys ranging from 5 to 15 pounds, and the turkeys even made Oprah Winfrey’s Favorite Things list.

Janie’s Cakes are billed as “The World’s Best Pound Cakes,” while Queso Mama combines chiles with cheese, used as a delicious appetizer dip or side dish. The product is sold nationwide at stores including Whole Foods and Costco.

Other well-known Tyler companies include Tyler Tortilla Factory, Tyler Candle Co., Moon Rivers Naturals, Nellie’s Scottish Shortbread, Tyler Candy Co. and Sister2Sister Cookies.
