The cuisine scene is all fired up in Oshkosh, with patrons able to order items ranging from cornbread pancakes to filet mignon Angus cuts. Here are some highlights:

Float Your Boat

An unusual restaurant in Oshkosh gives new meaning to drive-up service. Fratello’s Waterfront Restaurant is situated along the Fox River and offers 40 boat slips for customers who would rather boat-in than drive-in for their meal.

Fratello’s, which is Italian for “brother,” can seat close to 400 in its two-tiered dining room, with seating for 150 outdoors and 240 inside. The outdoor accommodations are ideal to relax and watch as boats pass by on the river, and there is also a house band on weekends.

As for its menu, Fratello’s has good appetizers, sandwiches and an excellent chicken Parmesan dish along with white chicken chili, and also on the premises is a Fox River Brewery that serves brands like Reel It In IPA, Marble Eye Scottish Ale, Crooked Dock American Pale and Blu Bobber Golden.

Snaketail Ale and Tapas

Outstanding cuisine has long attracted patrons to The Granary on W. Sixth Avenue. Like the aforementioned Fratello’s, The Granary is a restaurant with an adjacent brewpub that serves beer brands with names like Coconut Porter, Goldendoodle Premium Lager, Honey Blonde Ale, Breakfast Beer Stout and Snaketail Ale.

With two dining rooms seating 100 customers each, the restaurant also features intimate nooks and crannies, a banquet room and a two-tiered lounge with a huge bar that displays 250 bottles of spirits. Popular food menu items at The Granary include wood fired pizzas, tapas, entrée salads and sandwiches like a shaved beef French dip, fire roasted lamb leg pita, and a stuffed pepper jack burger.

Other Can’t-Miss Spots

Also ranked high as delectable places to enjoy a meal in Oshkosh are TJ’s Harbor Restaurant as well as Pete’s Garage Bar, which opens every day from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. and serves items like prime rib sandwiches and garlic fries. Another good place is Gardina’s Wine Bar & Café with menu selections like baked goat cheese salad with salmon, French onion soup and lobster dip.

Four other top eateries are Ruby Owl, Beachcomber Bar & Grill, Mahoney’s Restaurant & Bar, and Pilora’s Café, whose specialties include cornbread pancakes, beer cheese soup and grape chicken salad.
