What do you like most about living in Gillette?

The progressive nature of the community. We’ve always had a vision. We’re always moving forward.

The Best Neighborhoods in Gillette

Where would you recommend someone visiting Gillette go to get an idea of what it’s like to live there?

I’d probably have to send them to the Campbell County Recreation Center or to Gillette College. Both are modern and high tech. They show you some of what we’ve done in the last 10 to 15 years.

What is your favorite thing to do in Gillette with friends and family?

Depending on the time of year, there’s always something going on at the CAM-PLEX. They have a junior (American West Hockey League) hockey team there, the Gillette Wild. It’s a lot of fun. In the summer there’s baseball games or tennis matches. There’s also the theater at the Heritage Center.

If you keep up with things that are “in the works” for the future there, what do you look forward to the most?

One of the most exciting things coming up is the Field of Dreams. The city bought 330 acres of parkland. The school will put in a cover stadium, where we can host football games. Then there will be eight to 10 baseball fields, four or five soccer fields. It will be used by the entire community. What is unique about Gillette is you have all these entities working together.

What word best describes Gillette?

Vibrant.
