It’s said that a place is only as good as the people in it, but access to good food is almost as important when choosing where to live or visit.

You’re in luck, because the Victor Valley region of Southern California features tight-knit communities and some of the best burger spots in the state. Ahead, discover six eateries known for their excellent hamburgers, service and vibes, plus what sides you should order to make it a meal you’ll never forget. There’s even a plant-based option sure to satisfy vegans and carnivores alike.

VEGANBURG

Before VEGANBURG became the must-stop spot between Las Vegas and Southern California that it is today, it was born as the world’s first 100% plant-based burger joint … all the way in Singapore, where the innovative twists on the American staple quickly caught on.

Today, VEGANBURG in Hesperia offers 10 unique hamburgers that locals love, like the Haight N’ Salsa that doesn’t skimp on the spice or the guac. Also, the Loaded Shroom Fries are always a good choice.

Tam’s Burgers

With a modern diner vibe and a menu with something for everyone, it’s no wonder that Tam’s Burgers, which opened in Los Angeles in 1971, now has six locations, including one in Victorville. Every burger from its impressive selection is freshly made using 100% ground beef and served on a soft sesame bun. Try the chili burger for an authentic Los Angeles experience. For something lighter, the grilled chicken salad with fresh vegetables and sliced hard-boiled eggs is equally delicious and satisfying.

Sizzler

This classic chain restaurant has been in business since 1958, and while it may be known for its flame-grilled steaks and self-serve salad bar, they also serve divinely handcrafted hamburgers that will have you going back for more.

At the Sizzler on Main Street in Hesperia, the prime rib burger is a must-try – it’s made with premium quality meat and served on a toasted brioche bun stacked high with toppings. Don’t skip snacking on the free cheese toast while you wait for your order.

Olympic Flame Burgers

High-quality food and a pristine dining room are just part of what keep customers coming back to family-owned Olympic Flame Burgers in Hesperia for over 45 years. Its mission to “create culinary experiences that delight the senses and nourish the soul” shines through in every plate. Choose from thick beef patties topped with crispy bacon, avocado slices and delicious finds like the pastrami cheeseburger.

Farmer Boys

You can count on popular fast-food chain Farmer Boys for farm-fresh food, but the award-winning hamburgers may be the biggest draw. Choose from eight never-frozen beef burger varieties, make sure to grab a side of the mouthwatering chili cheese fries or colossal onion rings, then pick a table and sit back and enjoy the family-friendly farmstand feel.

Spirit River Café

Spirit River Café in Apple Valley features Americana-style dishes. Saddle up to the Western burger smothered in barbecue sauce or the Cowboy burger topped with green chili, jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. The sides go well beyond fries – think chunky potato salad, seasonal fruit and sweet potato fries – so you’ll want to take a closer look before making your decision.
