More Dining and Retail Options Are Coming to the Victor Valley
According to data from San Bernardino County, the population in the High Desert region of Southern California has grown by more than 8% since 2020. This includes the Victor Valley communities of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville. Each community continues to expand its retail development plans to keep up with the uptick in demand, bringing residents even more shopping and dining options, including the region’s first Sam’s Club.

Town of Apple Valley
Plans for two highly anticipated shopping centers are officially underway in Apple Valley. The Buffalo Trading Post Plaza, adjacent to Highway 18, is slated to include an Aldi, Chipotle, Dutch Bros Coffee and Wendy’s. And construction has already begun on an even larger center just east of Apple Valley Towne Center that will feature a Hobby Lobby and Five Below. The 93,000-square-foot center sits across the street from the Apple Bear Center, where a Sprouts Farmers Market and one of two new Victor Valley Raising Cane’s restaurant locations is being built.
“These new developments will bring more than great shopping and dining experiences; they will create jobs, improve infrastructure and capture sales tax revenue that funds public safety, parks and infrastructure maintenance, and many other services and amenities that make Apple Valley a better way of life,” says Sarah Krieg, Town of Apple Valley public information officer.
City of Adelanto
The City of Adelanto’s commitment to offering diverse retail and service offerings as well as supporting economic development is reflected in the anticipated 2026 arrival of two nationally recognized retail brands, IHOP and McDonald’s.
“The presence of national tenants in Adelanto reduces the risk for other national brands,” says Anita Itnyre, the city’s public information officer. “They often follow proven success and look to existing franchises as signals of market viability. The Lewis Group (development company) has been a terrific partner to the city and is focused on long-term success. The city is working closely with the Lewis team to attract essential services and complementary retail that meet both residential and regional needs.”
The new IHOP and McDonald’s and future retailers will also bring higher-wage job opportunities to the region and bolster the city’s financial reserves that are used in part to fund local infrastructure and services.
City of Hesperia
With the Costco in Victorville serving as the only warehouse retailer in the region, it’s no wonder every Victor Valley community is excited for the new Sam’s Club coming to Hesperia.
“Our community has been asking for a Sam’s Club, and we’re thrilled to announce that one is on the way,” says Kelly Brady, public relations analyst for the City of Hesperia.
The estimated grand opening is mid-to-late 2026, but Brady says the city is working closely with the popular retailer to move the project forward, so it may be operational even sooner.
“The new location will bring jobs, increase sales tax revenue and offer high-quality products and services, adding value and convenience for Hesperia and the Mojave River Valley region,” Brady says.
City of Victorville
Apple Valley isn’t the only community in the region that will be getting a Raising Cane’s and a Dutch Bros Coffee.
Sue Jones, Victorville public information officer, says that a Raising Cane’s is also under construction at the existing Desert Sun Plaza in Victorville.
The Dutch Bros drive-thru coffee chain is planning a location on the northeast corner of Palmdale Road and Cantina Street. Residents can expect to visit these two new restaurants in late 2025 and early 2026, respectively.
Additionally, a Pollo Campero restaurant will be opening by the end of 2025 at the shopping center anchored by Vallarta Supermarkets on Mariposa Road.
“We are proud to welcome these national brands to our strong diversity of dining choices in Victorville,” Jones says. “They will add to our great lineup currently offered in Victorville for the enjoyment of our community.”
