7 Must-Attend Events in the Victor Valley

Victor Valley’s social calendar is anchored by massive community traditions that celebrate all the things that make the region so unique. To get the full Victor Valley experience, here are a baker’s half-dozen signature events and festivals to attend: 

1. San Bernardino County Fair 

Held each year in May at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville, the county fair is one of the region’s longest-running traditions – dating to the 1940s. A celebration of the High Desert’s agricultural heritage, complete with livestock exhibitions, educational displays and youth competitions, it’s everything a county fair should be. Over 100,000 visitors attend each year, enjoying the carnival rides, live entertainment, fair food and other family-friendly attractions. 

2. Mojave Music Festival 

A newer addition to the Victor Valley event lineup, this music festival is known for an atmosphere that immerses attendees in nature. Performances are set against lakes, in cottonwood groves and along the Mojave River corridor at Mojave Narrows Regional Park. It’s the perfect mix of music, food, art, camping and nature, all in one beautiful May weekend (and the gorgeous weather that implies). 

3. Hesperia Days 

This community festival is one you won’t want to miss. Each September, residents of Hesperia and beyond gather at Hesperia Lake Park for a weekend full of fun. The event kicks off with the Hesperia Days Parade along Main Street – think floats, marching bands and local businesses strutting their stuff – and then the festivities continue at the park with live entertainment, food, family activities and even a fireworks show. 

4. Fall Festival 

Another community staple, Victorville’s Fall Festival is known for spreading autumnal joy. This street fair experience is especially popular with families looking for a safe, festive event. Music and live entertainment, food vendors, makers’ market displays, info booths from education and service organizations, and a dedicated Kids Zone make Fall Festival a High Desert favorite for good reason. The 2026 event is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 3. 

5. Arthropalooza 

You haven’t attended a festival like this before! At Arthropalooza, bug enthusiasts unite for an uplifting, educational celebration of all things insects and arachnids. The festival takes place each spring at the Victor Valley Museum, and attendees gleefully flock to the hands-on discovery zones, interactive exhibits and science demonstrations. It’s not just educational but also tons of fun, and it has become a true family favorite in the region. 

6. Freedom Festival 

Widely known as one of the best Independence Day celebrations in the High Desert, the Freedom Festival in Apple Valley is the best way to participate in Fourth of July celebrations. The event features live music performances, children’s activities, tons of vendors and lots of patriotic pride on display. Additionally, it is undoubtedly the place to go for the region’s largest fireworks display! 

7. Sunset Concert Series 

While not a standalone festival, the Sunset Concert Series takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the summer at the Civic Center Park in Apple Valley. It is a completely free, family-friendly event featuring live bands, a Rotary beer garden, dancing, and local food vendors.
