#8. Albuquerque NM
Compared to other metro areas of similar size, Albuquerque rush hour commutes are some of the easiest in the country. One resident claims that her daily commute on I-40 takes her a swift 15 to 20 minutes, while the average one-way commute clocks in at 21.3 minutes. The state of New Mexico as a whole ranked second after Mississippi for least amount of congestion, partially due to its desert climate and lack of rainy days making commutes less hectic.
Sound like a dream? Rio Rancho, part of Albuquerque’s metro area, has been touted one of New Mexico’s most affordable cities and is a great place to raise a family thanks to its more suburban feel, quality schools and plenty of parks.
