“Residents can attend and enjoy a year-round calendar of activities that bring everyone together,” says Ridler, President and CEO of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber is involved with a large number of events.
Here’s a small sampling of the epic community-centric events waiting to be explored in Castle Rock.
Castle Rock Winefest
More than 30 wineries from throughout Colorado showcase more than 180 varieties of wine, and there is also a beer garden. Activities take place at Butterfield Park in The Meadows.

Douglas County Fair Parade
The Chamber created the parade in 1955 to celebrate the region’s ranching history. The parade always kicks off the annual Douglas County Fair & Rodeo at Douglas County Fairgrounds.
The next parade is set for July 29, 2023. Visit castlerock.org/dcfairparade.
Colorado Artfest at Castle Rock
The annual Artfest paints the town for two days in early September on the weekend after Labor Day, with 110 juried artists from around the country in attendance. Activities take place downtown at Festival Park.
The upcoming Artfest is Sept. 10-11, 2022. Visit castlerockartfest.com.
Castle Rock Starlighting
Set this year for Nov. 19, 2022, the holiday Starlighting happens downtown on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. About 25,000 people attend the event, and the highlight is the lighting of a large Christmas star atop the famous elevated Castle Rock. Motorists traveling along I-25 can see the illuminated star.

Other Annual Events
The Castle Rock Car Show cruises into downtown every June on Father’s Day weekend, and Oktoberfest is celebrated in late September.
“We’re asking individuals and businesses to please contribute to our Castle Rock Chamber Foundation,” Ridler says. “The nonprofit Foundation helps pay for upkeep on our 1889 Victoria’s House headquarters and property. It also helps fund our many Chamber programs, including Talent Pipeline workforce development, Leadership Douglas County, job fairs and other resources. Thank you.”
