From birth through their senior years, residents are met with comprehensive, high-quality health care in Castle Rock, CO. Since the area’s health care industry has grown in tandem with the community, traveling to larger regions like Denver or Colorado Springs for treatment is largely unnecessary.

Here, residents can find everything from neonatal intensive care and advanced cancer treatment to post-acute care and specialized surgery, all which are offered by highly trained professionals located just minutes from people’s homes.

High-Tech Health Care in Castle Rock, CO

One option for individuals and families is Sky Ridge Medical Center, located in nearby Lone Tree. This facility is home to an accredited Chest Pain Center, a comprehensive Cardiac Care Program and a Cancer Center that treats a wide variety of cancers and offers on-site infusion.

“From a quality perspective, we take pride in offering our patients the utmost in care,” says Linda Watson, director of marketing and public relations at Sky Ridge. “For patients, knowing that you have the highest quality care available near you is wonderful.”

Did You Know?

Sky Ridge’s Birthing Center delivers more babies each year than any other hospital in the South Denver metro area, and it maintains a Level III
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and emergency pediatric services.

To keep treatment on the cutting edge, this 284-bed hospital makes technology a priority. In fact, it was the first in the state to receive a Joint Commission certification as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, offering life-saving clot removal in the crucial minutes of a stroke. The hospital’s hybrid operating room allows surgeons to perform radiological examination during surgery without the patient leaving the room. Plus, its Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy treats lung cancer, allowing surgeons to detect and diagnose lung tumors early.

“Lung cancer is often diagnosed in its later stages when it’s more difficult to treat, but if you can get people in here, this laser procedure can save lives,” Watson says. “It’s a game-changer.”

In Sky Ridge’s new Augmented Surgery procedure, a 3D image of a patient’s spine is projected directly onto the patient in the operating room, enabling the surgeon to have a clearer, more precise view. “This technology means smaller incisions, less blood loss and a shorter recovery time,” Watson says. “Tech has really enhanced surgery and sped up recovery.”

Care for the Community

Castle Rock residents also have access to Castle Rock Adventist, a faith-based, nonprofit hospital that focuses on health and wellness for patients and the community. The 55-bed facility offers expert care in medicine, surgery, imaging, emergency care and various specialities. While similar to other hospitals, it also has a number of unique qualities.

“We try to keep things very simple, like our signage and layout, and we try to keep a very nice aesthetic at the hospital,” says Chase Aalborg, Castle Rock Adventist’s COO and CFO.

“We get complimented all the time about how beautiful the hospital is. If you’re in a place where you are comfortable, where it’s nice looking, it makes it easier to get well.”

The hospital also boasts an outstanding restaurant that serves wholesome and healthy food, and it maintains one of the largest community gardens in Colorado. Additionally, Castle Rock Adventist is expanding to become a 91-bed hospital and opening a new medical office building that will contain an outpatient surgery center.

“Castle Rock is either a suburb of Denver or we’re not, depending on who you talk to, but a lot of people enjoy getting care right here,” Aalborg says. “Castle Rock has grown so much over the past 10 years. By 2030, we will be at 100,000 people. We need to grow with it.”
