Looking for excellent health care training in Pueblo, CO? IntelliTec College helps reduce the wait time for starting a career in health care by offering students several fast-track pathways in the medical field.

In addition to career-training programs in such professions as automotive and electrical, IntelliTec provides options for students to receive certificates and degrees in several health care fields, including medical assistant, dental assistant, and medical billing and coding. Health and wellness programs in massage therapy and cosmetology also are available.

The medical training at IntelliTec involves much more than merely sitting in a classroom listening to lectures. Students learn how to perform such tasks as drawing blood, giving injections and conducting EKG tests.

“Students receive a lot of hands-on training, and at the end of the program, they get to do an externship at one of the local doctor’s offices for even more hands-on training,” says Intellitec College associate campus director Kristen Williamson. “By the time students go to that externship, they feel well prepared. Then after the externship, they feel even more prepared when applying for jobs and going to interviews.”

Pueblo, CO, Is Expanding Access to Health Care

Pueblo’s health care sector is growing through investments, expanded services and programs that improve access to care across Southern Colorado.

Training in 18 Months or Less

Most of IntelliTec’s programs can be completed in either 12 months (for a certificate) or 18 months (for an associate degree), though there is a four-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program that quickly prepares students to sit for the Nursing Assistant State Board Exam.

In addition, the program for medical billing and coding provides flexibility for busy students with a hybrid schedule that includes only six weeks of on-campus instruction, with the rest of the classes available to be taken online.

“And after graduating, students can receive assistance from our career services,” Williamson says. “We try to make all our programs as beneficial as possible in helping students obtain jobs.”
