A national leader in delivering compassionate, personalized care, AdventHealth’s whole-person approach extends beyond patients to wrap around more than 90,000 team members on the job in AdventHealth careers and in the community.

Providing resources for professional and personal fulfillment, AdventHealth is widely acclaimed as an excellent work environment.

In 2023, the organization was hailed as one of the best places to work by Becker’s Healthcare, Healthiest Employers, Computerworld (information technology), Gartner (supply chain) and Forbes (veteran employment).

The many clinical and operational accolades stem from AdventHealth’s foundational mission of putting Christ’s healing ministry in motion to care for body, mind and spirit.

Finding Family in Their AdventHealth Careers

Clint Joseph Romero, RN, found a home with AdventHealth a little more than two years ago when he and his wife, also a nurse, moved to the United States to further their careers.

“I chose AdventHealth because it shares the same ideals I believe as a person and as a nurse,” says the 20-year health care veteran. “We had a lot of job options,” Romero continues, “but finding an organization that will help you better yourself and matches what you believe is rare.”

As an international nurse, Romero has high praise for the organization’s Transcultural Assistance Program, saying TAP goes beyond job training to include assistance finding housing, transportation and getting acclimated. Now, Romero assists the TAP team in welcoming new nurses.

“We are migrants and are new here,” he says of a shared experience among international nurses. “Probably one of the best ways AdventHealth supports us is by making sure we have a family away from our families.”

The Romeros appreciate that support as they’ve grown their own family.

“I am very grateful that AdventHealth gives full-time employees paid parental leave,” he says, noting both he and his wife were able to take time off when their second child arrived.

From professional camaraderie to personal growth, Romero says an AdventHealth career has been the perfect fit for his family and will be for others, as well.

“AdventHealth definitely exceeds your expectations every single time. They eat, live and breathe the whole-care experience for patients and employees.”

Building Bright Futures at AdventHealth

Hired in August 2023, Triniti Belflower jokes she’s spent most of her life at AdventHealth DeLand. Although a slight stretch, the young nurse tech did begin her affiliation with the hospital as a teenager through Deltona High School’s Health Academy.

“Since I was 7, I’ve been set on being a nurse,” Belflower explains, adding her school’s affiliation with AdventHealth provided great exposure to the field.

Now studying nursing at Daytona State College, AdventHealth’s supportive colleagues and tuition assistance are making her dream both achievable and affordable.

“Even though I’m not working a 40-hour week, I still qualify for tuition reimbursement working part-time,” she says. “I usually work two 12-hour shifts, and we get to work around our (school) schedule.”

Belflower says the on-site mentoring and hands-on experience of an AdventHealth career is equally valuable.

“To me, it really feels like a family. If you’re struggling with a subject or section, there’s always someone to help,” she notes. “And any day we get to interact and see the positive impact on our patients is a best day.”

“AdventHealth definitely exceeds your expectations every single time,” Belflower concludes. “They eat, live and breathe the whole-care experience for patients and employees.”
