The mark of any great city is its dining scene, and Greater Fort Lauderdale has great eats in spades. Because the region is so diverse, there’s something for everyone and every craving – Italian, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, seafood, steak and vegan, to name a few. For those with dietary restrictions, like food allergies or those following a low-carb or gluten-free diet, plenty of diet-conscious options abound.

Read on for a few of our favorites — you won’t go hungry in Fort Lauderdale.

TacoCraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar

With its signature lime green bar lined with vintage bucket bar stools and its Instagram-worthy angel mural, TacoCraft serves “craveable” Mexican street food, like shrimp aguachile, carne asada tacos on homemade tortillas, and chicken taquitos.

Lucky Fish

At Lucky Fish in Pompano Beach, you can nosh with your toes in the sand under a palapa and savor beach eats, like conch fritters, coconut shrimp, wings, burgers and Nathan’s hot dogs amid a laid-back island vibe.

Top Hat Deli

All the traditional favorites are on the menu at Top Hat Deli, which has its roots in New York and has a retro feel, serving lunch counter classics like Nova Lox sandwiches, cheese blintzes, knishes, matzo ball soup, brisket and pastrami sandwiches.

American Icon Brewery Kitchen & Taproom

Raise a glass of award-winning beer on the patio at this industrial-style taproom. Whether your taste is for a lager or an IPA, be sure to mug for a selfie with murals of Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison, American icons themselves.

Funky Buddha Brewery

Get funked up on the bright, sunny patio at the Funky Buddha, who started brewing their “unconventional yet exceptional” beers in 2010. Their Floridian ale is a German-style wheat beer, while their famed Maple Bacon Coffee Porter is a riff on breakfast in a glass.

The Alchemist

Like magicians, baristas at this Wilton Manors coffee shop create elixirs that will make your day golden. In addition to their coffee drinks and a quaint cottage-like patio space, they serve a menu of salads and sandwiches with a modern twist.

Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas

With an expansive, airy patio, Angelo Elia serves Neapolitan pizzas with creative toppings (the Cremona features sliced pear, pancetta, figs and gorgonzola) and Italian favorites like eggplant parmesan, stuffed zucchini flowers, calzones and lasagna.

Ann’s Florist & Coffee Bar

A family owned and operated establishment since the 1970s, Ann’s offers floral arrangements for any occasion. It features a patio where you can get food and coffee, and it is a favorite for floral classes accompanied by cocktails.
