One of three roasters in the area, ByGood specializes in “crop to cup” small-batch coffee and tea blends. They roast on-site daily to provide the cleanest, freshest coffee to their customers. Start your day with the signature “3 Sipps Drip” medium roast or housemade chai with a freshly baked pastry.

Everything is made in-house daily, from rustic loaves of bread and flaky pastries to savory quiches, sandwiches and salads.

Established in 2007, Coffee Park is Greater Winston-Salem’s original walk-up, drive-up coffee shop. This charming spot serves locally roasted coffee and baked goods from local partners, all in a 1958 Airstream trailer. From classic drip and espresso drinks to teas and blended beverages, Coffee Park offers a unique experience that keeps regulars coming back.

New to Greater Winston-Salem’s coffee scene is Black Coffee & Cuisine, a place where everyone can meet for any occasion. Winston-Salem Breweries, Distilleries and Watering Holes

You’ll find a wealth of breweries in Winston-Salem, NC, plus a lively variety of distilleries and drinking establishments.

Foothills Brewing has been a cornerstone of Greater Winston-Salem’s beverage scene since opening in 2005. Still the area’s only restaurant-brewery, owners Jamie and Sarah Bartholomaus bring their passion for craft beer and coffee to everything they do. Their three locations – the downtown brewpub, tasting room and Footnote coffee bar – offer something for everyone.

The full kitchen, led by chef Shane Moore, turns out dishes like the pear arugula salad and Buffalo chicken wrap, not to mention a rotating daily “Shanewich.” The beer lineup features core favorites like Jade IPA and Carolina Blonde, seasonal releases like their Pumpkin Ale, and hemp beverages that were introduced in 2024. Grab a bag of house-roasted beans or a canned nitro cold brew on your way out.

With arcade games, billiards and a few cheeky adult games, Dive Bar Winston-Salem is a come-as-you-are hangout. Families with kids are welcome until 8 p.m. After dark, the vibe shifts to a lively neighborhood haunt, complete with daily specials and a weekly karaoke night.

Tucked beside a community garden, the West Salem Public House strikes a balance between casual coffee spot and welcoming watering hole. Stop in for a morning latte, an afternoon work session or a glass of wine with friends for conversation and connection. With a thoughtfully curated selection of beer, wine, coffee and nonalcoholic options, it’s become a local favorite.

Carolina Ale House is Greater Winston-Salem’s go-to spot for sports, food and fun. With 80 beers on tap, including local favorites like Foothills, and a full beverage menu, there’s something for everyone to sip while cheering on their favorite team. The menu hits all the game day staples, from burgers and wings to tacos and dips.

Housed in a restored tobacco warehouse, Broad Branch Distillery sits in the heart of Greater Winston-Salem’s Arts District. All spirits are made on-site using grains sourced from North Carolina farmers, resulting in award-winning whiskeys, ryes, rums and grain spirits that reflect the region’s agricultural roots. Visitors can relax at the cocktail bar, sample spirits in the tasting room or take a behind-the-scenes tour to see the distilling process up close.
