Dos Potrillos Mexican Food Truck
The menu for Dos Potrillos (Two Foals) has all the “big hitters” you’d expect at a Mexican food truck. But deciding between items like the quesabirria (cooked beef folded into a tortilla with melted cheese and served with a side of broth for dipping), nachos, tacos or burritos won’t be easy. On the weekends, they make menudo, a tripe-based soup, as a special dish. They also do homemade pork tamales and red sauce. For a kid-friendly serving, opt for the mini quesadilla.
Find the truck at 2286 Oak Grove Road in Aiken or order online for express pickup and delivery. Dos Potrillos is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily except Sundays.
3 Maria’s Authentic Mexican Food
Named for the three daughters of Nelle and Greg Coates, this Saluda-based truck has a customer base that extends across the region. Most of their menu is made from scratch, including the corn tortillas and salsa.
Enchiladas and tortas continue to be fan favorites, but unexpected treats like boba tea and a Mexican hot dog (topped with chopped onions, tomatoes and jalapenos) can also be found. For a fun, fresh, on-the-go snack, grab an order of esquites – a cup of Mexican street corn salad. 3 Maria’s opens at 11 a.m. and can be found at 306 A N. Jennings St.
Back from the Dead Cafe
Another truck worth hunting down in the region is this cleverly coined mobile bakery. Caffeinated beverages are the theme here, and with names like Revenant, Reanimator and the Awakening, you’re likely to get that jolt of energy you’re craving.
Caramel frappes, lattes, cold brew, teas and espresso are also ready to be enjoyed as well as light bites like kolaches and klobasnek for food. For those who don’t favor coffee, check out the hot chocolate.
Beefed Up!
It’s not often you come across a lasagna food truck, but at Beefed Up!, they’re known for this cheesy, multilayered signature dish. Working out of North Augusta, the family-owned and operated truck opened during the pandemic as a way to provide food for a socially distanced community.
In addition to hearty pasta plates, they also grill up burgers, meatball subs and hot dogs. Not only will you find them around the neighborhood, but they’re happy to cater parties and events so the joy can be shared with friends and family, too.
Fuse Mobile
Owners Kevin and Tylené Matson have been operating Fuse Mobile in Aiken since 2022. The name derives from a now-closed eatery in Aiken, but the truck has no brick-and-mortar connection. Fuse Mobile is most widely known for its slow-smoked brisket tacos, topped with pickled veggie relish, pickled onions, pickled mini bell peppers and a “healthy drizzle” of aioli.
According to Kevin Matson, customers might be surprised to learn a small detail. “We are completely gluten free, from our sauces to our matcha chocolate chip brownies,” he says. “And we’re available for private events and corporate outings.”
The truck’s whereabouts are posted every day on social media.
