Nisus Corporation: From Bootstrapped Beginnings to Global Reach
Sponsored by: Nisus Corporation
Thirty years ago, Harry Bryan walked into a young, scrappy Nisus Corp. in Blount County, TN, and felt something different, something he couldn’t quite name at the time but knew he wanted to be part of. Back then, Nisus was a small, bootstrapped business where everyone wore every hat. Bryan unloaded trucks, scribbled orders on notepads, helped make product and shipped it out the door. What the company lacked in size, it made up for in heart, hustle and the belief that a great story and a great team could change everything.
Today, as director of business development, Bryan is part of a global organization with industry-defining products, strong infrastructure and a reputation for innovation rooted in integrity. He has had a front row seat to Nisus’ evolution, helping bring 38 EPA-registered products to market and shaping a culture that listens to customers, partners and one another first.

“Everyone in this building has a seat at the table,” Bryan says. “That’s how we stay relevant. That’s how we stay true.”
The pest control industry has transformed dramatically during Bryan’s tenure. What once focused on reaction and chemicals now centers on prevention, sustainability and long-term protection. Through every shift, Nisus has stayed ahead of the curve by solving real customer problems and protecting what matters most – people’s homes.
For Bryan, Nisus’ story is inseparable from the story of Blount County, where his family has lived for six generations. He grew up just miles from the company’s corporate office, long before Rockford became a hub of growth and opportunity. As the county expanded, Nisus did too, creating jobs, supporting local causes and becoming a trusted neighbor known as much for its character as its products.

Looking ahead, Bryan feels the same excitement he felt on day one. New technologies, new partnerships and new categories are on the horizon, but the company’s heartbeat remains unchanged.
“Nisus means the ongoing pursuit of excellence,” Bryan says. “And that spirit is who we are.”
After three decades, Bryan’s legacy is simple: trust, integrity and a relentless belief in people.
“Business is personal,” he says. “It always will be.”
