Farm-Fresh Goodness: A Guide to Farmers’ Markets in the Nashville Region

Thanks to several farmers’ markets, residents in the Nashville Region have access to nutritious and delicious fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs and other goods. 

Among them is Wedgewood Houston Farmers’ Market in Nashville at The Outfield behind the old guitar scoreboard at Greer Stadium. “The Outfield is a new little park where the market operates the first Wednesday of every month from May through December,” says Mark Mulch, market director. “Those Wednesday hours are in the evening from 5 to 8 p.m.” 

Wedgewood Houston has 50+ vendors along with a food court and Jackalope beer sales. 

“I also own 12 South Farmers Market in Nashville off Granny White Pike that runs every Tuesday from May through October,” Mulch says. “There are several interesting markets to visit in the Nashville region.” 

Ahead is a look at 10 of the best Nashville farmers’ markets. 

1. Nashville Farmers’ Market 

Located along Rosa L. Parks Boulevard near the Tennessee State Museum is the Nashville Farmers’ Market, which is made up of two covered open-air sheds, a garden center, a culinary incubation center and an international food hall that has more than 25 restaurants and shops. While the market is open year-round, individual merchant hours vary. 

2. Ashland City Farmers & Artisans Market 

Riverbluff Park is where the Ashland City Farmers & Artisans Market convenes on Saturdays in June, July and August from 9 a.m. to noon. Along with fruits and vegetables, items sold include jewelry, blankets and home décor. 

3. Clarksville Downtown Market 

American Farmland Trust named the Clarksville Downtown Market the No. 1 Farmers Market in Tennessee in 2023. It is open on Saturdays from May through October from 8 a.m. to noon. 

4. Columbia Farmers Market 

This open-air market operates on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon throughout the year along Riverside Drive. The largest group of vendors at the Columbia Farmers Market is present from May through October. 

5. Dickson County Farmers Market 

The Dickson County Farmers Market operates year-round in the old 84 Lumber building. The summer season runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the winter season runs on Saturdays.

6. Franklin Farmers Market 

This year-round market is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at The Factory at Franklin. However, the Franklin Farmers Market will soon relocate to Franklin First United Methodist Church’s campus. All fruit, vegetables, dairy, meats and baked goods are produced locally. 

7. Gallatin Farmers Market 

Gallatin Farmers Market operates seasonally from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays from May through September at the Gallatin Fire Department. Vendors sell everything from herbs to fresh birdseed. 

8. Mt. Juliet Farmers Market 

The Mt. Juliet Farmers Market is held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from May through October at Charlie Daniels Park. Farmers and vendors live within 75 miles. 

9. Robertson County Farmers Market 

This popular market is held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from May through August at the Robertson County Fairgrounds in Springfield. Attendees at the Robertson County Farmers Market can find items like grass-fed beef and hive-fresh honey. 

10. Rutherford County Farmers Market 

The Rutherford County Farmers Market runs from 7 a.m. to noon every Tuesday and Friday from May through October inside Lane Agri-Park Community Center in Murfreesboro. Vendors hail from 15 counties.
