Robertson County residents now have leading medical facilities and highly skilled professionals right in their own community. Gone are the days when needing specialized services meant a road trip. Three local medical professionals share their thoughts on why they love where they live and what they do, which is helping to make a positive difference in their patients’ health and in Robertson County health care overall.

Dr. Love Anani

Medical Director of Emergency Department, TriStar NorthCrest

Dr. Love Anani laughs about growing up a city boy in Houston, Texas, and now loves coming to work every day at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Robertson County, “where everyone functions as one large supportive family. It is a wonderful community hospital.”

Since 2015, the emergency medicine specialist has embraced being on the frontline of medical service and providing a safety network for the community. Additionally, the father of twin toddler boys is the medical director of both the hospital’s emergency department and the Robertson County Emergency Medical Services.

He is married to Dr. Uchenna Anani, a neonatologist at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville and is deeply committed to mentoring future medical students with diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Anani completed his residency in emergency medicine at the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University and is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C.

He enjoys playing video games and watching movies, particularly Oscar contenders.

Away from the hospital, the energetic physician often is a local speaker and educates high school coaches about sudden cardiac arrest in teenage athletes.

“I would tell other medical providers considering Robertson County that this is a friendly place, with good people and somewhere you can make a positive impact,” he says.

Anani’s Health Tip

If you think you are experiencing a stroke, get to the hospital immediately – no more than an hour after your symptoms start. Take longer, and you are playing with fire.

Vanessa Sciotti

Shine Pediatric Therapy, Occupational Therapist

An injury early in her life planted the seeds for Vanessa Sciotti’s future career.

“I received occupational therapy on my hand as a teenager, which developed my interest in the field,” she says. “I have been an occupational therapist with Shine Pediatric Therapy for almost five years and am inspired by our amazing patients and their families every day.”

Located in Springfield, Shine Pediatric Therapy is dedicated to being a light in the lives of children by supporting their overall growth and development through various therapy services.

Sciotti also helps with the therapy center’s participation in the Springfield Buddies special needs baseball league and trunk-or-treat event during Halloween. She is married and the mom of “one very spoiled dog,” says the therapist. She enjoys living in Robertson County and would recommend it to others because the area is close enough to Nashville for the activities there, but away from the hustle and bustle.

Sciotti’s Health Tip

Unplug from electronics and spend more active time outdoors.

Cara Lawson

Certified Nurse Midwife, Diana Health

Empowering women to take ownership of their health journey is an important part of why certified nurse midwife Cara Lawson enjoys being on the Diana Health staff, a modern OB-GYN practice in Robertson County.

“I love bringing babies into the world at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center,” Lawson says. “The labor and delivery team provide the best, compassionate care to families.”

As a wife and mom of three children and two puppies, she is active in her church and loves exploring the outdoors. Lawson and her husband wanted to raise their family in the South and were drawn to the beautiful scenery, lovely people and the family-centered values of Middle Tennessee.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Calvin University in Michigan and holds two master’s degrees as a family nurse practitioner and in midwifery.

Lawson would recommend this area to medical professionals “because it is a great community to serve,” she says. “There is a need for comprehensive medical care, so that people don’t have to travel to get health care.”

Lawson’s Health Tip

Preventive health screenings and early detection are keys to living a long, healthy life. It is just like getting the oil changed in your car to keep it running effectively.
