Hurricane Harry’s is a super popular bar for college students in College Station. Students go to drink, dance and just hang out, and love the “country bar vibe.â€ There are two dance floors that are always crowded. Live music events are always crowd pleasing, and the regular DJ has been known to play the Aggie War Hymn. Students say it’s not only a great concert venue, but is popular even on regular weeknights. Harry’s also located conveniently on College Avenue, and its inexpensive prices are definitely made for a college student budget.
O’Bannon’s Taphouse advertises itself as “much more than a barâ€ claiming to “cater to every facet of that social experience.â€ The pub offers 75 of the world’s finest ales and lagers. Students have been coming to O’Bannon’s since it opened in 2005. This pub is most popular on game nights, but they also have busy karaoke nights and half-price pint nights. Their menu offers authentic Mexican food with slow-cooked meats and homemade tortillas. Their puffy tacos are the most popular menu items, and students claim they’re worth the price. Students also rave about the fresh salsa bar that has tons of options including marinated cucumber. Dining in or through the drive-thru, students appreciate fast and friendly service.
