Lake Ray Hubbard has more than 30 miles of lovely shoreline, and one of the best places to kick back, relax and watch the sun set is Scenic Point Park. Picnicking with the family and participating in a number of water sports are among the many ways to enjoy Scenic Point.
Raise a Glass
In a Main Street building with a rustic 1920s atmosphere, Bankhead Brewing Company is an authentic brewpub that opened in 2016. A full menu is available to patrons along with 15 craft brews with names like Wheels Off (pale ale), Hootenanny (German bock), Giggle Water (Vienna lager), Doohickey (oatmeal stout) and Whoopee (Czech pilsner).

Canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding are fun activities along Paddle Point Creek Trail located on Lake Ray Hubbard. The entrance to the trail is off Miller Road and the water is almost always calm, and wildlife like herons, egrets and eagles can often be seen. Paddlers can even experience history as they paddle to old Highway 66 Bridge, which is partially submerged.

Rowlett partners with local businesses and non-profit organizations to host a number of free events throughout the warm-weather months. A Summer Concert Series showcases some of the area’s best cover bands, while Movies at Pecan Park is staged every Friday night during September. Movies in 2017 included The Secret Life of Pets and Beauty and the Beast.
Celebrate Diversity
Come down to Rowlett Community Centre on Main Street in early October to help celebrate Diversity Day, a family event where residents can learn about the many different cultures that exist in the city. Activities include food tastings, a kid’s zone, concerts, dance performances and vendors selling ethnic items.
