Beloit, WI
On the southern border of the state and nicknamed “Gateway to Wisconsin” is Beloit, a city near the confluence of Rock River and Turtle Creek. The downtown area is designated a Wisconsin Main Street district, and the local economy is strong in agriculture, biotechnology, education, food processing and manufacturing. Higher education options include Beloit College, Concordia University-Beloit and Blackhawk Technical College, and the Beloit Snappers baseball team is part of the Oakland Athletics organization.
