Mark your calendar for the first weekend in September. That’s when the annual Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival takes place. The festival that began as a small arts and crafts gathering has become Winchester’s busiest weekend‚ drawing 30‚000 visitors to the community. Activities include a Friday-night street dance‚ Daniel Boone 5K run‚ talent contest‚ paint ball and an antiques road show. There’s a community church service Sunday at College Park followed by a Sunday evening concert at Lykins Park.
