7 Must-See Rodeos in Southern Idaho
With its rich Western tradition, Southern Idaho is home to an abundance of local rodeos, featuring classic events like barrel racing and bull riding, along with new twists on old favorites.
1. Camas County Pro Rodeo
This Fairfield rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) event held every July. Make it an all-day event by coming out early to the Camas County Pro Rodeo and play cornhole or check out the car show near C Me Later Arena.
2. Cassia County Fair & Rodeo
The Cassia County Fair & Rodeo is a weeklong affair in Burley features live music, rodeo, 4-H competitions and so much more. The Barnes PRCA Rodeo puts on three nights of rodeo fun for the whole family every August.
3. Jerome County Fair
The Jerome County Fair hosts a PRCA ProRodeo event for three nights during the fair. Visitors can also enjoy tractor pulls, live music and amusement rides at the carnival on the Jerome County Fairgrounds.
4. Minidoka County Fair & Rodeo
Minidoka County Fair & Rodeo is a late summer fair in Rupert that hosts an open rodeo and junior rodeo. Before the main event, the fair honors the annual “Grandma Queen,” who reigns over the rodeo proceedings for the year.
5. Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo
Each July in Shoshone, the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo hosts events like antique tractor pulls, junior rodeos and the Open Saddle Series Rodeo. If horseback rodeos aren’t enough, the fair also features a moto-rodeo.
6. Gooding Pro Rodeo
The Gooding Pro Rodeo is a classic PRCA event has all the staples of a rodeo, with a few twists that have kept visitors returning for almost 100 years. Spectators in the “Beer Worthy” section judge a cowboy’s performance, deeming him worthy of a cold drink — or not.
7. Twin Falls County Fair & Rodeo
With its emphasis on youth and agriculture, the Twin Falls County Fair & Rodeo in Filer features a junior rodeo alongside the Magic Valley Stampede PRCA Rodeo, a three-day event in late August.
