Situated in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area is San Rafael, home to several companies that develop high-tech elements for the movie industry. Attractions within the city include China Camp State Park, several entertainment venues and the Marin County Civic Center building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Residents have their health needs served by Kaiser Permanente, and college students can attend Dominican University of California. San Rafael first appeared on our Best Places to Live list in 2014.
