Colorado’s growth and the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the critical importance of enhancing economic development. For many businesses, energy is a top consideration in where they locate or expand.
As the first major U.S. power company to announce a vision to provide customers with 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050, Xcel Energy is ready to help new and expanding companies reach their energy and sustainability goals.
Xcel Energy’s Economic Development team manages real estate programs that help companies connect with growth opportunities and create new, high-paying jobs for Colorado communities.
A robust certification protocol delivers a broad range of sites and buildings throughout the state. Plus, Xcel Energy’s Economic Development Rate provides eligible Colorado companies with a discount on electric rates for up to 10 years, which can mean more capital for your project.
“When businesses are equipped with the knowledge we gather, they can move faster to evaluate their real estate options in Colorado,” says Tom Bailey, senior director of corporate economic development at Xcel Energy. “We streamline the process by coordinating with municipalities and local economic development organizations.”
Power. Property. Potential. Ready to go.
Xcel Energy’s Certified Site Programs provide an online inventory of the area’s most marketable industrial sites and buildings. They’re promoted at economicdevelopment. xcelenergy.com and by Xcel Energy’s economic development professionals at national trade shows, industry events and presentations to site selectors.
The firm’s database now includes nine Adams County certified sites encompassing over 10,500 acres.
Liz Gardner, Xcel Energy’s community affairs manager for Adams County, says site selectors will find information on dozens of characteristics, including robust power capacity and infrastructure, access to transportation and communication networks, and other criteria designed to increase speed to market.
With innovative programs, clean energy leadership, energy bills well below the national average and steadfast commitment to its communities, Xcel Energy gives Colorado a leg up in business growth opportunities. There’s no doubt: Adam County’s future is bright. Xcel Energy is proud to power it.
