Northern Kentucky Has Gone to the Dogs
Check out these four-legged-friendly green spaces throughout the Northern Kentucky region.

Northern Kentucky residents and their furry friends have plenty of places to enjoy the outdoors.
Recently added to the list of dog parks in the region is Bark Park & Patio, which opened in Florence in 2022. Bark Park & Patio is actually a bar on Burlington Pike that features 20 local craft beer and wine taps for customers, and the facility’s outdoor patio has picnic tables and is next to a 1.5-acre grassy space for dogs to run around.
The grassy area provides a comfortable backyard atmosphere, and customers can even book the park for 30-minute sessions for just you and your dog. Bark Park & Patio is open Tuesdays through Sundays, and food trucks are often on-site.

In 2022, a new dog park opened in Burlington on Field #7 at England Idlewild Park. Hours are sunrise to sunset. Dogs need a current Boone County license and must be leashed when entering and exiting the park.
Another pet-friendly public venue in Northern Kentucky is Fort Thomas Dog Park, which has separate fenced areas for pups 22 pounds and under, as well as big dogs. In Covington, Kenton County Paw Park has playground equipment for dogs, both large and small, while Newport Dog Park is picturesque and recently added more trees. In addition, Walton Community Park has a fenced dog park and a paved walking trail.
