If you’re a burger fan, Billings is the town for you. This charming Montana town is home to The Burger Dive, a quirky burger joint that won the 2016 title of “World Burger Champion.” Locals can’t get enough of their huckleberry burger with goat cheese.

Located 90 miles south of Billings, Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area offers 17 miles of incredible hiking, and the views are well worth the drive. The park offers camping and fishing as well, so pack your gear and make a weekend trip out of it.

With a population of 166,855, Billings is the largest city in Montana. But don’t let its size fool you – it still has that small-town feel. Locals agree that one of the best and fastest-growing areas is the West End, which is comprised of neighborhoods like Central Heights, Olympic Park and West Ridge. West End is also home to Will James Middle School, one of the Billings’ top-rated schools.

As the city grows, so does its makers scene. Craft breweries have begun to pop up all throughout Billings, but Carter’s is a revered favorite. Like many businesses in Billings, Carter’s is family owned and operated, and is well-known for its IPAs and Porters. Sip on this: Billings also has the only walkable, self-guided brewery tour in Montana.
